We try to carry everything that you will need to be academically successful during your time at Swarthmore. And we carry products that are just meant to make your life easier, to entertain you, or to help you relax. We also try to provide services to make your life easier. As always, if you have suggestions for products that you'd like us to carry or services you'd like us to provide, please let us know.
PRODUCTS The Bookstore carries required textbooks and supplies, a large selection of general interest and leisure reading material (including a bargain book section), computer software & peripherals, previously viewed DVDs, Swarthmore memorabilia, imprinted clothing & gifts, greeting cards, phone cards, snack foods & cold beverages, room accessories, health & beauty aids, laundry & cleaning supplies, general everyday gifts, and even some puzzles & toys. We like to think we have everything you might need. All products in the Bookstore are sold at or below manufacturers' suggested list prices. There are a few special product categories that merit special mention: Telephones. Each student has a phone jack for a "land line." Many students come to campus with cell phones. But students tell us that they don't want to use up valuable cell phone minutes for local calls. We stock phone that our telecommunications people confirm will work with our phone and voice mail system. Discounted Software. Swarthmore students can get unbelievable discounts on software. For example, as this mailing goes out, Microsoft Office Professional is only $79.98! Through a special arrangement between the Association of Independent Colleges & Universities of Pennsylvania, Microsoft, and JourneyEd, we can provide you with unbelievable prices on software. See the bookmark in this mailing for details or visit our web site. Care Packages & Balloons. There is a separate sheet in this mailing about care packages. Basically, we'll make up any kind of package you like. A care packages can really brighten a student's day! Custom Apparel. We struggled for years to have everything you might want-sport shirts, apparel for academic departments, classes, etc. But we couldn't have it all-until now! See the enclosed sheet for details about this great custom design program. SERVICES Stamps. We sell postage stamps at face value. Quarters. We "sell" quarters (for laundry) at face value. Rolls are $10.00 but you don't need to buy a full roll. Special Orders. We offer special order services for books, supplies, and computer products. Fax Service. We also offer a fax service for sending and receiving faxes. If someone is sending a fax to you, please ask them to put your name and phone number on the fax. We'll call you when we get it to tell you it is here. The current charge for faxing is $1.50 for the first page and 20¢ for each additional page ($5 for the first page of international faxes). The charge to receive faxes is $1.00 for the first page and 10¢ for each additional page. The fax number is (610) 328-8650. PRICING We belong to two different buying groups so we have the buying power of large chain stores. But we're answerable to our campus community-not to a corporate office. So you'll find that we have what you need, when you need it, at very competitive prices. |
